Description of Work:

The successful candidate will work with senior technical engineers in building and supporting the On-Premise Cloud and Linux platform. Tasks include designing and supporting the architectures, infrastructure technical sizing, and new systems implementation. The successful candidate analyzes requirements, design specifications for functional activities and should provide  identification/fixes for the problems identified within existing systems design/implementation of new systems, enhancements of the existing systems and participating in analysis, design and new construction of next
generation IT systems.

Document Red Hat OpenStack build and configuration process
Evaluate Red Hat OpenStack design
Compare Red Hat technology to other solutions
Evaluate integrating new technology with SSA IT security standards
Develop and document test plans for the OpenStack infrastructure


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience; Masters and 3 years of relative experience.  An additional 4 years of applied or relevant  experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a RedHat Systems Engineer/Administrator, or a combination of directly related experience
Experience and advanced skills with RedHat RHEL Administration and Engineering Versions 6 & 7 and later in a large environment
Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced skill with RedHat OpenStack
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Red Hat Satellite v6 or later
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Ansible and Ansible playbook creation
Minimum of 2 years of experience monitoring and optimizing the performance of the RedHat system
Extensive knowledge of and experience with Linux kernel internals, patching, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, bug fix updates, and core builds
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) required in order to obtain and maintain required Position of Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) or modern application frameworks
Knowledge of and operational experience with methodologies related to Agile and DevOps
Working knowledge of Splunk (SPL) is a huge plus
Familiarity with managing and maintaining Virtualization technologies
Knowledge of enterprise server security and patch management
Knowledge of configuration and change management
Performance tuning and monitoring (Nagios and Solarwinds)
Technical documentation skills
