Northrop Grummans Defense sector is looking for a Program Manager for the

Combat Directions Systems Activity (CDSA) program, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As Program Manager, you will perform the following duties:

  • Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs, and participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.

  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.

  • Develop new business and/or expand the product line with the customer.

  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in direct Program Management.
  • Experienced leader who has successfully built and managed 2 or more teams.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to handle multiple managerial and technical tasks simultaneously with a broad span of control.
  • Must be knowledgeable of financial and business concepts required to manage for attainment of business goals.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors and/or Master's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Navy Combat Systems Engineering.
  • MBA or MS in Logistics or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in direct Program Management.
  • 10 years of experience in Navy Combat System Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills leading a team of 20+ employees.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Navy ship products and processes.
  • Current, active Secret Clearance, able to obtain a TS/SCI level clearance.
