 Northrop Grummans Mission Systems sector is seeking a Communications Representative to join the Navigation, Targeting and Surveillance Division Communications team in our Rolling Meadows, Illinois office.

As part of this team, you will play a key role in developing and implementing internal and external communications plans to drive business results and inspire the workforce. The ideal candidate will have versatile communication skills - including strong verbal and written communication and the ability to manage high-visibility projects.

How you will make a difference:
 Develop and execute internal and external communications initiatives designed to support key business objectives, long-term goals and projects.
 Write, edit and distribute strategic and timely business announcements, news items, creative articles and videos for a geographically dispersed workforce
 Support event planning and executive engagement opportunities, such as conferences, webcasts and site visits
 Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of employee communications initiatives and tools. Implement practical actions based on metric results.
 Prepare executives for internal and external speaking opportunities
 Serve as a strategic communications counselor to key business leaders

Basic Qualifications:
 Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing communications projects, channels or campaigns, drafting communication content, materials and products -OR- 3 year of experience with a Masters Degree in a related field with similar communications project experience.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
 U.S. citizenship required.
 Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

 Experience working with the military, defense industry or government a plus.
 Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization
 Skilled in managing multiple projects/activities simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
 Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
 Experience in media relations and event support
 Professional acumen to develop relationships with various types and levels of professionals.
 Possess a DoD Secret security clearance
