Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer supporting our EA18G program based out of Point Mugu, CA.

What Youll get to Do:

We are seeking a lead/senior software engineer for full time assignment supporting design and development of Airborne Electronic Attack system Operational Flight Program (OFP) software for the EA-18G aircraft. Successful candidate will have experience in design, development and integration of real-time embedded software. We are looking for a senior software engineer with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment that requires interaction with distributed teams including the Navy customer and other contractors. The position requires the ability to coordinate and collaborate with external organizations and internal functional disciplines to plan, execute and work through program activities and issues; with strong oral/written communications skills and demonstrated technical leadership capabilities. Must be able to maintain strong customer relationships and provide innovative technical solutions specific to software and the domain of electronic attack.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM field with 14 years related experience in development and maintenance of real-time embedded software systems or a Masters Degree in STEM field with 12 years related experience or a PHD in a STEM field with 9 years related experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance is required
  • Requires strong oral/written communications skills.- demonstrated understanding and experience with developing complex DoD programs that utilize OOD, open architecture standards and real time operating systems for embedded software development
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with the full software development life cycle from definition of system/software requirements, software design, software implementation and unit test, Software integration test and support of system integration testing in a leadership role
  • Experience with designing, communicating, presenting, and documenting complex software requirements, architectures and UML based software design.
  • Ability to generate, review, and present system level and software level requirements particularly in the domain of Electronic Attack software and related domains.
  • Ability to present complicated software designs and architectures to both internal and external customers such as the DoD government agencies.
  • Expert knowledge of requirements management processes and tools.
  • Proven software development using object-oriented higher order programming languages such as ADA and C++.
  • Experience with developing system/software artifacts and software development tools and environments 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Green Hills Integrity RTOS
  • Knowledge of ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORS
  • Experience with open architecture standards such as FACE and OMS
  • Successful implementation of a CMMI level 3 certification or equivalent process standard
  • Current secret or higher level clearance
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large technical team
