Military Aircraft Systems (MAS) Programs Supplier Quality Manager will report directly to the Director of Supplier Quality and will be responsible for all aspects of Supplier Quality across the MAS Division.  This functional homeroom manager is responsible for Supplier Quality program execution, personnel, processes and infrastructure. This position represents Supplier Quality to program / division leadership and internal and external customers. Manager interfaces with the program to ensure adequate proposals, staffing and support with establishing and implementing strategies and tactics to drive affordability and long term improvement.


This individual will lead a team comprised of Quality Engineers, Quality Analysts, and Quality Inspectors that are responsible ensuring incoming product meets all program requirements.  The manager interfaces with Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain, Program Management, and customer counterparts to ensure all Supplier Quality expectations are met and address any escapes / issues in a timely manner.  The manager will also collaborate with counterparts in Supplier Quality and Mission Assurance both within the Sector and from other Sectors in support of Corporate initiatives.  Must be able to Interface and brief executive leadership and customers as required on issues, action plans, and requested content


This individual must have a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems, Military Aircraft Programs, and Global Supply Chain in order to manage Supplier Quality cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk in support of program contract milestones across the division.  Manager is responsible and accountable for strategy, planning, and execution of all Supplier Quality processes and activities and is the focal point to the MAS programs for the Supplier Quality organization. This may require direct interface and active engagement with supplier personnel to establish up front requirements and drive root cause and corrective action for escapes throughout the product lifecycle.  Responsible to manage and established metrics in accordance with Global Mission Assurance & Excellence requirements and in consideration of Program objectives to lead Supplier Quality execution and account for labor estimates, resource planning, and assure identification of trends and actions to reduce supplier caused defects.   The manager must engage with new business in proposal support, supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection as well as the establishment of requirements, flow-downs, budget, and appropriate staffing.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 9 years of related aerospace, supplier management, engineering, or quality experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishments within staff development, project management, program management, team development, or leadership
  • Knowledge of financial organizational responsibilities; budgets, staffing plans, work load forecasting
  • Ability to articulate and effectively communicate with the Program Office and Mission Assurance & Programs Leadership, to include all customers
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain DoD and Program clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Functional Management Experience
  • Experience managing both exempt and non-exempt personnel
  • Previous experience in Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and/or Mission Assurance
  • 5+ years Quality experience Previous experience estimating labor costs/proposal involvement (TD/BoE experience)
  • General knowledge of SAP, MES-NC
  • General knowledge of Supply Chain processes
  • Understanding of military aircraft and a hardware, manufacturing processes, and acceptance testing
  • Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
