The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Corporate Tax Department and work with our talented and experienced team to prepare sales and use tax returns, as well as other tax compliance/filing obligations. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other professionals.

Prepare sale/use tax, personal property tax, gross receipts, & miscellaneous tax preparation & filings
Develop tax knowledge by assisting with tax controversy issues (indirect tax audits) and tax notices
Assist with state and local tax research as well as preparation of tax memorandums
Support ad hoc projects related to tax planning, tax audits, and accounting
Utilize tax and financial technology (e.g. SAP, PTMS, Vertex, and CCH) to accomplish tax department objectives
Maintain tax calendar, prepare tax payments and update documentation files
Assist compliance team by working with accounts payable, accounts receivable & sectors to resolve sales/use tax issues
Complete Indirect tax registrations

Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD) from an accredited college/university  majoring in Business Administration, Accounting, Taxation, or related program
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Exceptional computer usage skills with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
Available to work 25-30 hours per week for at least 12 weeks during the semester and/or break
Ability to read and understand financial statements reported under US generally accepted accounting principles
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Current enrollment in an accredited MS program in Taxation, Masters of Law program or similar field
Available to work 40 hours per week for at least 12 weeks during the semester and/or break
Interest in tax, accounting, and/or tax law
