Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS), FA/18 Program is seeking a Principal Contract Administrator 3 to perform the full range of life cycle contract administration duties reporting to the El Segundo, CA location. 

 

Responsibilities include: Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.

 

The Contracts Administrator may be responsible for some or all of the following: Preparing bids and responding to solicitations, leading proposal efforts for new procurements, conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration for domestic and international contracts, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. The Contracts Administrator may processes specifications, report progress, and maintain reports; advise management of contractual rights and obligations (up to the Executive level); compile and analyze data; and maintains contract records. The Contracts Administrator will support contract closeout activities.

 

In addition, the Contract Administrator may examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 years experience in a contract, subcontracts, finance or other relevant Business Management related function(s), or a Masters Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant business related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively work with the management of other organizations (program management, subcontracts, business management, and supply chain management) as well as representatives of Government agencies.Must have capable & effective proposal development skills, excellent negotiations skills and demonstrated ability to communicate within various levels of an organization.
  • Must possess excellent decision making skills that support resolution of complex problems while minimizing risk to the Corporation
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to work as a team player, be proactive in identifying and resolving problems, have excellent organizational skills, and effective time management skills.
  • Ability to brief Senior Leadership, as well as internal and external customers
  • Experience in U.S. Government Department of Defense contract administration & management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with, and influence others to include mentoring and developing a team.
  • Able to easily demonstrate advanced understanding and experience with FAR and DFARs. Experience with various contract types such as Time & Material, Cost types, Firm Fixed Price, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and change directions when needed
