Northrop Grummans Enterprise Services (ES) is seeking a Manager of Billings. This individual, reporting to the Director, Enterprise Cash Services will lead a large team of professionals and managers. This manager will ensure strong processes and controls are in place and will provide value added services to our partner sectors. This position is located in El Segundo, CA and relocation is available for the right candidate.

The Manager, Billing is responsible for planning, organizing and managing contract billings for Northrop Grumman. Billings include progress payments, cost-type, fixed price and time and material invoices/vouchers; conduct accounts receivable analysis, including unbilled analysis; ensure timely collections; and provide accurate and timely accounting services in support of our customer operating sectors. Manage inquiries and act as liaison with DCMA and DCAA with our sector partners.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) , the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and Northrop Grumman policies and procedures, as well as, the integrity, consistency, and reliability of the processes employed in the performance of business management functions
  • Services management including the optimization and automation of processes
  • Ensures timely billings and collections to maximize cash flows
  • Provides an open, trusting work environment conducive to employee engagement, and ensuring a high performance culture
  • Manages monthly closing activities and ensure accuracy of accounts
  • Serves as point of contact for internal and external audits related to department activity


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field with at least 10 years' experience or 8 years experience with a master's or MBA
  • 3+ years' of prior experience managing teams
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, CAS, and SOX requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with SAP
  • CPA or MBA
  • Experience in financial services/billing teams
  • Knowledge of SAP and the SAP Sales and Distribution module
  • Familiarity with IFRS
