Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Pilot Level 5, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA.


The selected candidate will serve as senior program operational pilot and Chief of Training, Standardization, and Evaluation Program.  Candidate shall organize and execute a complex flight training program in accordance with corporate, military, FAA, and ICAO procedures and requirements.  Candidate will be responsible for standardizing aircrew training and conducting aircrew evaluations at locations around the world.  Candidate must be an expert senior aviator, briefer, instructor, and evaluator.  Candidate may conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or other personnel to exhibit vehicle performance, flying qualities, and system capabilities.  Additionally, Candidate expected to develop advanced flight procedures, flight test techniques, and assist in cockpit/workstation improvements.  Candidate will also be key stakeholder in the editing and publication of flight manuals and engineering directives.  Position is based in Chantilly, VA but requires occasional overseas travel (25% or less).  Selected Candidate must successfully complete advanced training and qualifications as a basis for continued employment. 


Basic Qualifications:

         Bachelor's Degree plus 14 years of related flight experience, or a Masters Degree plus 12 years of related experience. 

         Position requires experience in flight instruction and evaluation.  

         Current FAA Class II Medical or better.

         Minimum of 1000 hours of flight experience as Pilot in Command.

         Minimum of 500 hours piloting unmanned aircraft.

         Able to maintain instrument currency in manned aircraft. 

         An active in-scope Secret Clearance

         Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access required.


Preferred Qualifications:

         Military flight experience highly desired.

         Test Pilot experience highly desired.

         Aviation related STEM degree.

         Multi-engine rating desired.

         FAA CFI and Commercial rated pilot desired.

         Top Secret Clearance
