Northrop Grumman is seeking elite, experienced professionals to join an IT department at a large civilian U.S. government agency with a specialized expertise in Windows System Administration. Selected candidates will provide customer support for a user community with multiple system requirements (1600+ servers) and will be part of a rotating on-call schedule, including weekend and evening work when necessary.

All positions will be located in Bethesda, MD with potential telecommuting ability. Currently, the customer allows staff to telework one (1) day per week with approval. Some key staff (those who have demonstrated high levels of expertise) may have the ability to telework more frequently with approval.

Qualified Windows System Administrators require strong experience in Windows system administration and will provide technical support and hardware and software expertise and experience designing and implementing modernization approaches to UNIX/LINIX systems such as scripting for automation, cloud, and virtualization.

This is a dual-level position may staffed at a higher grade level dependent upon selected candidate experience.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

Principal Windows System Administrator:

 

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) is required in order to obtain and maintain a Government Public Trust clearance.

 

Bachelors and a minimum of 6 years of applied work experience, OR Masters and minimum of 5 years of applied experience. An additional 4 years of applied work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirement.

  

Minimum of 6 years of experience in an enterprise production working in a Windows server environment, as a computer professional maintaining, configuring, installing, and supporting Windows servers and resources.

 

Demonstrated experience in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) administration and Cloud support/migration of Virtual Machines (VM)

 

Minimum of 6 years of experience with Scripting tools (e.g. KSH, CSH, Perl, PowerShell, python, Java, VB) in designing and developing tools for repeatable activities and automation
