Global Services Division has a Deputy Program Manager position supporting a Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) program, managing a current program and contributing to pursuits of research and technology development task order opportunities under an IDIQ contracts with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.  The position requires CWMD domain expertise, a technical background, and program management aptitude needed to perform responsibilities for the cost, schedule and technical performance management.  To be successful, the candidate must have skills in product development, staff development, capture/proposal development, team building, supplier management, mission assurance, and critical thinking.


The candidate selected for this position will lead a technical team performing on ongoing programs focused on nuclear survivability and the protection of strategic systems from nuclear weapons effects.  Additionally, the candidate will manage the performance of smaller specialty engineering tasks performed as cross-sector collaborations to enhance radiation hardness efforts for key Northrop Grumman systems.

 

This is a customer-facing role requiring domain experience and communications skills to present work products to Government stakeholders.  The candidate will be required to support formal and informal presentations to Government technical managers and subject matter experts as well as to senior level Northrop Grumman management and must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade and communicate effectively. 

    


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Electrical Engineering Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience directly related to this position

  • Program Management aptitude with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple efforts at the same time

  • High level of understanding in a specialized technical field - - CWMD domain knowledge in countering the effects of nuclear and radiological weapons effects.  Current program responsibilities require experience in electromagnetics, nuclear survivability and the protection of systems from nuclear weapons effects

  • Experience with radiation effects related to satellites and exo-atmospheric missiles systems

  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Current active Secret clearance required to start, with eligibility to be assessed  for a Top Secret 

  • Must be a US Citizen



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret (SCI-eligible) security clearance

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Work experience with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), and/or the Air Force Research Laboratory

  • Quality management experience and understanding of quality metrics associated with DoD acquisition programs
